Position Summary:

The Chemical Engineer is responsible for all chemical activities of the Site, managing all laboratory operations, ensuring accurate technical analyses, and supervising chemical injection rates and stock.

This role includes overseeing lab staff, driving continuous improvements, maintaining equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and collaborating with other departments to optimize production processes.


Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure compliance with quality management systems, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
- Act as Head of Treatment Function for the Site: define chemical strategy, injection instructions, HSE risks, contractual strategy etc…
- Control and recommend chemical injection rates for chemical treatment, chemical stock management, and ordering to ensure cost optimization and optimal performance.
- Implement process improvements, test new products, optimize lab procedures, and stay updated with new products and technologies.
- Manage daily laboratory operations, reporting, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with Client's standards
- Supervise, train, and mentor laboratory staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to safety requirements.
- Ensure accurate and timely technical analysis and reporting of results, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Help to maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functionality and compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with Production, Field Engineers, and HSE to provide safety documentations and recommendations, data-driven insights and support operational strategies.


Qualifications/Requirements:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field;
- 5 years of experience in chemical engineering within the oil & gas sector;
- Strong understanding of chemical injection systems and equipment management;
- Experience of laboratory supervision and understanding of laboratory techniques will be considered as a plus.
